Academic Ambience

The Civil Service Institute is an integral part of the Farook College . The Institute is located inside the Farook College campus. The college has been re-accredited at A+ Grade (CGPA 3.51) by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and adjudged by the Government of Kerala to receive R. Sankar Award for the best special grade (Private) college in the state of Kerala for two years. The college has been identified by the UGC as a college with potential for excellence, the first college under the University of Calicut to receive the status.

Competitive learning library

There has been a steep rise in the number of competitive exams that are conducted by various state owned or government agencies throughout the year. With the “Young Nation” that we are today where we boast of highest number of youth in the world, it is mandatory for the coaching institutes to arm their students with the latest competitive requirements and learning atmosphere. The Libraries or the” knowledge Resource Centres” as these are called today, have to play a major role in assisting the aspirants of competitive exams by way of providing them the necessary reading material, timely information and guidance.

The Civil Service Academy has an exclusive Competitive Learning Library where aspirants can come, sit and refer different types of books on different competitive examinations in India. The Competitive Learning Library, in turn, house such collection which directly assists the students in meeting the requirement of their exam curriculum/syllabus. The students depend heavily on this library for their preparation of competitive exams as well and hence seek other literature also related with general knowledge, mental ability, current awareness, numerical ability, analytical skills, language skills, etc. apart from their curriculum related collection. Competitive Learning Library provides an exclusive reading atmosphere and reference facility.

Abussabah library

Farook college hosts one of the best libraries in the state of Kerala with a valuable collection of books, periodicals, CDs and other audio visual aids. The Library structure, named after Moulavi Abussabah Ahmed Ali, the founder of the Campus was commissioned by His Excellency the then President of India Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, on 17th November 2001 .Our students can use the Abussabah Library to extend their reading and preparation.

The library at present has a collection of 95562 volumes including textbooks and bound periodicals. The audio-visual section has a collection of 700 CDs, 160 gramophone records 40 films and 17 manuscripts. The library subscribes to 167 periodicals (Data as on 13/07/2021).

Our college follows a centralised library system. Books, which are required for immediate references, are only available in the department collection. The college library building has an area of 27,000 sq. ft. in two floors – Ground floor and Upper Ground floor.

Modern technology assisted classrooms

The institute conducts classes in modern technology assisted classrooms. The class rooms provides comfortable learning climate and technology assisted atmosphere. The Institute can accommodate more than 100 students at a time in classrooms. Air condition, Projector, sound system, wifi, virtual class facility etc. are available in class rooms.

Informatics centre

The Informatics Centre is equipped with a computer network based on Windows NT Network operating system. It includes a Windows NT Server and 38 workstations. The entire project including interior of the centre was donated by M/s T.K. Beefathima Beevi Memorial Charitable Trust, Chaliyam, Kozhikode.

Audio visual theatre

The Farook College Audio Visual Theatre is a state-of-the-art venue for seminars and academic programmes. Fully airconditioned, AVT has provisions for LCD Projectors and other hi-tech presentations; and it can accommodate 100 persons at a time.

24 X 7 Reading room

The institute has a spacious reading room which is open 24 hours every day. The students can come any time to the reading room for reading, discussions, writing exams etc.

Wifi facility

The students can freely use the wifi facilioty of the institute. The Wifi facility will be available from 09.00 am – 05.00 pm

Hostel facility

Separate Hostel facility available for boys and girls. The hostel provides accommodation and food
